I love eating good food (as you all know) and I love finding great deals. My friend introduced me to this place, it’s located in swanky and posh Kits (on West 4th) and it is an Italian restaurant.
Trattoria is part of the Glowbal restaurant group (basically a cluster of different types of posh restaurants sprinkled all around Vancouver). Normally i wouldn’t really eat there just willy nilly because their pastas are quite expensive.
The pastas range anywhere from $15 to $22 a plate but on Tuesdays every pasta dish is only $11.
Yes, even the $22 spaghetti and Wagyu beef meatball with truffle cream sauce is only $11! Which is exactly what I had because I like to be cost effective that way. I also had the wild mushroom fusilli, and the spaghetti and Wagyu beef meatball with spicy basil tomato sauce with herbed ricotta.
The wild mushroom fusilli was delicious because of the pancetta sprinkled throughout the dish. If you don’t know what pancetta is, it is basically Italian bacon. The bacon is so thin but it’s so tasty! The wild mushrooms didn’t taste very wild (nor did they look wild because they really did look like your average button mushroom to me) but they did taste good.
The Wagyu beef meatballs with truffle cream sauce (I would probably drink truffle oil if I could but that would be pretty disgusting) was really good and honestly, for $11 that’s a steal.
The service was pretty good (although she gave me my bill before we even asked for it- a sign that they want us to leave obviously) despite it being super busy.
The only downside is that you have to make sure you get there early (like 5:30 pm early) or else the line ups are huge. They don’t take reservations of course, because Tuesday evenings are their busiest.
Vancouver readers, have you tried Trattoria before?

Never tried Trattoria before but your photo looks delicious and it sounds like a good deal! The only pasta deal I know is Boston Pizza, also on Tuesdays. haha..
I’m not in Vancouver so I’ve never been, but that does seem like a pretty great price for a special type of meal. I’d eat a heavy breakfast then skip lunch so I’d be hungry for dinner that early. I’m a truffle oil lover as well.
