This is definitely a cheap and good eat and it’s in the heart of Vancouver, where all the beautiful people are (Kitsilano).
I’ve been here twice so far and have been happy with my meal choices both times. I haven’t had a chance to post about the journey my tastebuds took until now.
Romer’s Burger Bar gives you all natural, gourmet burgers (they look so good that you almost don’t want to eat them because you just want to look at them) for ridiculously cheap prices. I know $10 for a burger doesn’t sound like a steal, but if you’re thinking about all natural foods (nothing processed, frozen, or not pronounceable), I’d say $10 is a pretty good deal.
I had the Magic Mushroom Burger, which had chopped B.C. portabello mushroom and Boursin cheese. It comes with a side of salad or fries, for $10 or so. I think that’s a pretty good price
Here’s a picture of the magic mushroom burger from their Romer’s website (sorry would have taken my own pictures but didn’t get a chance to!)
I also have tried the Wickedly Deadly Cheeseburger, which was also good.
They even have a “Man’s Man” burger which my boyfriend had but he pretty much engulfed it so I wasn’t able to try it and see if it was any good. It looked good though!
They also have a Kobe beef burger too, but it certainly did not come at the $10 price.
The side of yam fries is also very delicious. They make it with a wasabi mayonnaise which makes it taste heavenly.
I tried their donuts for dessert and unfortunately wasn’t very thrilled. It sort of tasted like they just took some mini-donuts from Playland our amusement park and served them up on a plate to make them look gourmet. They were warm though and the sauces they served them with were quite tasty, however, at $5 for this, I would probably not order it again in the future.
They also serve brunch (which is my favourite meal btw) but I haven’t had a chance to try that yet.
Romer’s Burger Bar has two locations- one in the River District (I think this is soon to be the new “Kitsilano” of Vancouver, in the up and coming area of Kent and Marine Drive) and one in Kitsilano on West 4th.
If you’re ever in Kitsilano and are hankering for a burger, I’d give this place a try.

Ah kits, gorgeous neighborhood with expensive houses and lots of people out walking their dogs in the evenings. Haven’t been in awhile. Did you find the burgers kind of greasy or not too bad? Lol, I was wondering why these pictures looked so professional. Er..not that the regular pictures you take are not pro… >_<
@Liquid- haha cus I didn’t take these pictures! I don’t know how “pro” an iPhone can get lol. Yes Kits the yuppie neighbourhood! They opened one up in the River District (the new Kits of the eastside).
Huh?
Your burger was $11

Your side fries $4

Not including tax, drink or tip and you’re already at $15
Good? Yes (been there numerous times)
Cheap? You’re fooling yourself
I’m guessing they comp’ed you for the misleading shoutout???
@RC- I wish they comp’ed me! LOL No, I don’t ever disclose that I write about their restaurant when I visit it
That would mean breaching my own privacy and if you are a regular reader of this blog I don’t like to do that. Because I ran out of “cheap” eats in Vancouver I sometimes end up talking about “good eats”
